I tried explaining sarcasm to a Japanese exchange student and it was really confusing. “Sarcasm is the opposite of what you mean like… I HATE YOU!” “You hate me?!?!” “No. I don’t hate you. That’s why it’s funny.” “but is no funny if you hate me?”
